There are others who try medications, but the side effects somehow make it even worse. Some people have looked for solutions, but one that people are looking into is medical cannabis, and some may look at this as an alternative, since of course, it offers you a chance to have a more natural ingredient to treat these issues.

Medical Cannabis Use

Medical cannabis is becoming a whole lot more popular and is in fact, accepted as of late, being used to treat everything from cancer to MS, and even epilepsy, and there is even some evidence that claims it can help with chronic pain and other conditions too. With more and more states recognizing it, there are also a lot of parts to cannabis which help, including cannabinoids which help with improving your appetite, what you remember, and even pain and the movement issues you might have. it also works to help reduce nausea, pain, and other problems, with very little side effects too from it.

Cannabis and Menstrual Pain

These camps are caused by a hormone being released called prostaglandin within the lining, which causes cramps and spasms. This also does happen due to the lack of blood being pushed to the uterus too, and it can be unbearable for some people. It’s so bad for many that there is even a medical condition for this called dysmenorrhea, and right now, there is no solution for this.

Painkillers are the most common prescription, but let’s face it, if you use them for too long, you can have a risk of addiction develop. If someone is dealing with this for a long period of time though, they could go years with this, and the painkillers also may cause other side effects too, including mood swings, fatigue and others. Cramps are not fun, but with marijuana, it can aid with this. This is because it can actually help target the endocannabinoid receptors, which are critical for slowing down this problem, making cycles a whole lot more manageable for many people. While it may not get rid of the period cramps right away, it can be helpful.

Ways to Use it

There are a variety of ways to use cannabis for menstrual cramps. One of the most popular, is smoking, due to the cannabinoids entering, helping with the pain, and with more and more people utilizing different ways to use this, you definitely can get relief for the short term. Another one is vaping, since it’s more discreet, and you’ll be able to also hide the odors from the cannabis product itself.

It can be done with your own concentrates, or you can buy cartridges that you can just insert into the device in order to help with this. Edibles are another one, but it can sometimes take a lot longer. They’re effective though if you have long-term pain, and if you want to also just let the pain subside. You can have them in the form of anything from cookies to chocolate to even fruit chews. You can make your own or you can get them from a dispensary.

Finally, a lot of people like to use cannabis for menstrual cramps in the form of topicals. You can rub this into the area affected and it does work pretty quickly. This is food if you need immediate relief from period cramps. Periods are painful but with cannabis, it can be more manageable.
