Does CBD Oil Cause Insomnia

While CBD doesn’t usually case it, there are a few instances where it might occur. However, it actually usually does the opposite, giving you better, more restful sleep.  However, based on the doses, it can impact the sleep quality. Higher doses usually more sedative sleep. It can actually help some people get better sleep, since this is not a compound that’s psychoactive like how THC is.

Insomnia is something that does cause problems for people, since there are sleep disturbances along with awakenings at night, where you get up and you’re unable to fall back to sleep. Anxiety, pain, depression, alcohol, and ecstasy and cocaine are some of the major causes of insomnia. However, CBD doesn’t actually cause it, but it does the opposite, since it can be hep with anxiety, depression, pain, and stressors too, and helps you improve your sleep functions better, resulting in sleep, which is more restful, and better for you.

Why it might Create Insomnia

There are some instances where yes, CBD does cause insomnia.

The first, is the wake promoting. If you take low doses, usually around 15 mg or less in some cases, it’s more stimulating, and it negates those tired feelings.  Low doses of this compound as well improve the protein synthesis of the parts of your brain that are involved in waking up.  You also may feel like you’re starting to stay awake, rather than sleeping. However, this will not happen with larger doses

Another reason is that you’re using it too much. If you use it every single night, it does create a tolerance in some people, so the body gets used to it, so your body won’t fall asleep with this. The way to combat this one, is to take larger dosages, however, it does create the problem where you need to have this in order to fall asleep, which creates a dependence on this, and it might result in you getting insomnia because of this.

How to use this

CBD does help with sleep because it can relieve pain, depression, and stress, and through the relieving of this, it can help with sleep, and even maintaining sleep.  Also, high doses of this is good for adults because it can help them get to sleep if they suffer from negative conditions which do directly impact this.

If you’re going to use this, you want to make sure that you start low, and from there increase this and see what kinds of effects that this gives you. If you have sleep and anxiety troubles, you may want to start with a dose, see if it helps, and then start to increase this.

About 160 mg of this is great for sleep, and it does increase the total amount of sleep and how often you’re waking up in the middle of the night. However, if you do need the sedative results from this, you should go for about 300-600 mg if you want to feel those effects and get a more deep sleep.

In terms of when to take it, usually about a half hour to an hour before you go to bed is ideal, this is because it does need to be absorbed within the bloodstream before it works, and the impact does depend on how much you’re taking, your weight, and your own personal levels of metabolism

Overall though, if you take it as a tincture, it does work a little bit faster, and it can sometimes last a little bit longer and is slightly more potent.  The same thing can be said with smoking, as smoking usually is immediate.

CBD For Autism

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder is a developmental issue that does prove to involve challenges with social situations, nonverbal communications, speech issues, and repetitive and restricted behaviors, with the effects varying. This is something that’s risen quite a lot in the last few decades for no reason, and right now, there is no cure for the condition too, but there are therapies and medications to make life as manageable as possible for the person. Some scientists are still looking at the different treatments, but one of the ways people treat autism conditions is CBD, which we’ll go over here.

The Study

There are some studies that show that CBD may be useful for this. That’s because it lowers their anxiety, helps with memories that are overstimulating, and aids with sleep, a common problem that many with autism struggle with.  When compared to the conventional treatments for this, it could be really helpful, as there isn’t’ really many good therapies for this. It’s something that has been studied too, and for some studies, it’s been found that for the 18 participants that tried this, there were positive results. CBD can help different autism conditions in a similar way that epilepsy patients benefit from this, and non-epileptic autism definitely benefits from this too. It can definitely be something that could help.

The Improvements

The study that involved 18 different patients with autism who utilized CBD products that were 3/.4 CBD and just a part of THC, and they were given capsules with this. It was found that in the patients it helped with a lot of other conditions typically associated with autism. Some of them include:

  • ADHD symptoms

  • Motor problems

  • Communication problems

  • Sleep disorders along with seizures

  • Behavioral problems

  • Issues with autonomy

  • Cognitive issues

The biggest improvements definitely were in the sleep problems, social issues, and the seizures in these patients. Most of them did see improvement in at least one of the categories that were listed above. For a lot of people, these treatments may be a lot better than normal treatments. For a lot of people with autism, there are conventional treatments, and they come with huge side effects. It was also found that a lot of them did show benefit and a little bit less symptoms than normal.

What About THC Though?

This is another thing that some people wonder, since THC is psychoactive. This is the other cannabinoid that a lot of people look at. This actually can help, as it does bind to the same receptors, and also the anandamide that is there for those with ASD do have issues with behavior, and it can impact control. But THC can also help with this, and it could be a potential therapeutic benefit for those with autism.

While it does work potentially, there is the anxiety factors to consider, as cannabis with THC in it can be a bit too overstimulating for those who suffer from ASD and have anxiety symptoms. But it may be a good thing. Is it a valid treatment? Both CBD and THC can be, and the studies are slowly coming forward on the benefits of both.

For a lot of people, THC and CBD is something that can help with other effects, but for a lot with autism, it’s still something many struggle with. Because it’s such a diverse condition, it can be a bit hard to pinpoint whether or not it benefits a person with it. But, with more studies being done, we may see gross changes in autism treatment that help many people.

Can Marijuana Be a Drug “Substitute”

This is something that’s been a major cause of interest in people. With drug addiction still running super strong, and millions people dealing with this, it’s definitely a burden of at least 1.5% of the entirety of the globe. With the debate about addiction still being something that’s there, with some being chemical, and others being an environmental approach, people are looking for solutions.

Some people get relief through cold turkey quitting. Others benefit from going to rehab, and also getting less dangerous types of substitutes that are there. Some have explored the idea of using cannabis as a substitute, and it’s something that definitely could help for those who want something that is a good replacement for the more addictive options. Right now though, the results of this are quite unclear.

Why Use Cannabis as A Substitute

If you know a lot about cannabis, you probably also know that there isn’t a ton of human trials, and that’s because of the obvious. People are still afraid of cannabis, and they believe that even using this in a harmless, controlled setting will make things bad. But right now, there are some people providing the patients that they have with cannabis to replace different substances which are problematic, since there isn’t much evidence pointing to otherwise.

However, with different research that harnesses the different subjective experiences, they learned to get some insights. It was something that was studied, and it was found as a way for people to use cannabis as a way to get off drugs that were harder.

The study got a bunch of baby boomers around the bay area to answer some questions, offer audio recording, and they gave different responses on why they want to have cannabis. Some of the people said that cannabis is less about violent crime and helps with their bad tempers. Others say that it’s safer than other drugs. There are also other users who said that through cannabis substitution, they were able to get back to truly living life, and they definitely favored better compared to the more rigid people from rehab centers. This is an interesting piece of research, but does the science say otherwise?

Does it help with Painkillers?

It actually has. With opioids being some of the best painkillers out there, and they do work to reduce discomfort, they come with another problem, and that is addiction. They have a largely profound effect on your brain’s reward centers, and triggers the endorphin release, and it offers your body a chance to have better pleasures and a sense of being. However, this has lead to a big problem. That’s the opioid crisis that’s currently going on, which has led to a ton of addiction, and a ton of deaths, and about two thirds of fatalities out there come from this. And over 10 million older than 12 have misused this, as of recent.

There are states that have legalized it, and have helped with treating these addictions, providing an alternative to different treatments, and less chance for abusing these substances. So yes, it can help.  It’s actually caused deaths to plummet by up to 25% in some cases, and it’s actually helped lower the deaths that are tried to opioid abuse, especially compared to marijuanaIt is something that can help, and it definitely can help with suppressing breathing as well.  It also can help to combat withdrawal as well, and some recent findings have offered a chance to prove this, so it might be something that is indeed, definitely possible with the right dosage.

Cannabis for Chemotherapy Side Effects

Medical cannabis has been around for a long time, but one of the most important ways for it’s helped is for helping those with cancer. It’s actually great for a lot of people, especially for those who have chemotherapy-inducing nausea and vomiting.

What is It? What’s the Treatment

This is an overpowering and a debilitating condition, and it happens within the first 24 hours of a chemotherapy session. This is one of the most dreaded effects. It’s not just normal nausea, it’s so severe that it can be quite debilitating. Some people may use different anti-nausea medications and therapies, including corticosteroids, which help with treating this.

But the problem with this is that the drugs may not work. It’s not something that works for everyone, and the thing is, even if you do activate this, a lot of people don’t actually respond well to this. They still feel lethargic, drugged, and delusional in some cases. Cannabis, however, is better for treating this, especially since there are now drugs with cannabinoids to help with this.

How it works for Nausea

The two most popular cannabinoid medicines, nabilone and dronabinol, block off the serotonin binding, and dopamine effects, which are both at the receptor sites of this.  This is something that controls the emetic reactions, so if you can target that, it can help to manage this.

There is also the dorsal vagal complex near the brainstem which is responsible for the regulation of the emetic reactions as well, and it actually communicates the different responses within the blood. With cannabinoids, you can activate these receptors, reduce vomiting, and feel better.

Cannabis and Nausea Treatments

Many times, the cannabis works not just for CINV, but also all kinds of nausea. There’s even more evidence that shows that it can actually work better the more THC that’s in it.  Some strains that have this definitely work better than others, but ultimately, it depends on the concentration. The different ratios do offer varying effects of this.

It’s also of note that CBD is good for this too, since CBD does activate the neurotransmitters, decreasing the nausea sensation, but there is more research needed to identify all of the dosages, the combinations, and the interactions of drugs that are used for nausea, and all other kinds of disorders and problems too. So if you’re someone with nausea, consider as well talking to a doctor to help with this, as they can prescribe certain medications to aid I the treatment of nausea in you, and make things so much easier as well.

How to Start

The best way to figure out if it’s right for you, is to  talk to a doctor. If you’re in a state where medical cannabis is legal, then just contract them, see if there is any way they can offer you a medical marijuana card and from there, get yourself some cannabis. Some people like edibles for nausea because they offer long-term benefits. However, they do take a bit longer, so if you’re feeling nausea that’s too much to handle, you may want something else.

For a quick and easy relief, you can always get flower, a vape, or a sublingual means. All of these offer a fast way for you to get this in the bloodstream, and also to make this easier on you. For a lot of people dealing with cannabis, you definitely don’t want to miss out on this, and you should, with the doctor’s approval, get started on using this today, and from there, you’ll be able to, with this, get the benefits needed.

Medical Cannabis Safety

With medical cannabis becoming a super popular means to get a variety of the health benefits that you want to, there are also now more claims about what types of benefits you get from this. You also may wonder if it can help with different symptoms. Since the discovery of the endocannabinoid receptors, it’s been found that both THC along with CBD do interact with this system. This is great, and THC can work to help with pain. but the problem with it, is that it’s still quite new, with more and more people wondering just what the symptoms and safety concerns are. Here, we’ll go over them, and what medical cannabis affects you should be worried about.

The Uses of Cannabis

So what can cannabis help with? Well, here are just a few of the symptoms that cannabis can help to alleviate:

  • Anxiety, as this is something that can help ith mental health concerns, especially anxiety and other effects

  • ADD and ADHD, since it helps a person focus without some of the side effects that come from this.

  • Anorexia, which is a problem involving eating.  If you have this eating disorder, cannabis can help aid with this.

  • Cancer, as this can help prevent or even slow down cancer, and there are now medications that contain this too.

  • Pain, especially chronic pain. This can cause a lot of problems and be due to a ton of different conditions.  There are tons of medical cannabis products that help with this.

  • Depression, as it can help to relieve this, making it easier for you.

  • Seizures and epilepsy, as this is something that can be a major problem for people.  Some neurologists have recommended using cannabis oil with tons of CBD to help treat this.

  • Nausea is another major problem that cannabis can help with, as it does relax the stomach and help the food stay don

This is but a few of the different things that cannabis can help with. If you’re looking for new ways to get the help and treatment that you need, this is definitely something to consider.

Side Effects and Safety

Before the recent legalization of cannabis, some thought that marijuana was super dangerous. This is due to the reefer madness plague of the 1930s, here they thought that marijuana could cause this. However, after that, cannabis soon got outlawed, and is a schedule 1 drug, according to the federal government. However, with new studies, it is found that the new side effects are rare but not as serious as you would think they are.

Some of them include:

  • Paranoia

  • Dry mouth

  • Heart rate elevated

  • Drowsiness

  • Intoxication

Long-term use is rare, but it may cause cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome, but this is a rare condition here consuming cannabis does make you super sick. Also, as of note, both vaping and smoking also have a couple of downsides to the side effects, including breathing and lung issues, but it’s also still something that more and more people are actually looking to use other sorts of stuff.

While there are a few side effects that come from consuming this, the side effects are almost nothing compared to the benefits that this has to offer, which is why more and more are turning to this kind of thing.

If you’re curious about using this, then you’ll want to possibly talk to your doctor to learn a  bit about this to see if you’re able to qualify for medical cannabis usage, and other such things, and you’ll be glad that you did down the road.

The best Cannabis products to Help with Pain

There are a lot of people looking for new ways to handle managing pain. with many people trying to quit opioids because of the possible chances of addiction, overdose, and death, it’s definitely something people are trying to avoid as the go-to for chronic pain and other means. Long-term usage of this is not good either, especially for NSAIDs. Intestinal bleeding, ulcers, kidney disease, and even heart attacks are common for those. some even carry with it liver disease, and it’s something that you don’t want to deal with.

For those who experience any kind of pain, the easy solution may be to get an OTC medication for opioid, but it’s not the healthiest way. One thing that you can use is cannabis, a great way to manage pain.

CBD or THC

There are some people who wonder whether or not they should use THC or CBD for their pain. Ultimately, this depends. Some people like to use THC for neuropathic pain, or other severe pain, such as from chemotherapy or other treatments.  But CBD is good for generalized pain. Both of which are good, but if you’re looking to not feel high, CBD is better. But for the more blanketed high, it’s definitely something that people like to use.

The best strains for each type of pain.

There are people who want to handle different pain. while you can go into a doctor to get help, if you don’t want to worry about that, there are always chances of self-medicating to figure out the symptoms. On average, for joint pain, a patch that’s 1:1 is the best way to handle this.

For many people with muscle pain, flower is the best way to go about it. Cherry punch, sour jack, or velvet glove are all potent flower for this. For general discomfort, flower and other strains are good. Cherry punch and slurricane both are good for mitigating pain. For those with lower back pain, most of the time, a flower or vape strain works. Guru, triangle Kush, or modified grapes are all good strains.

Finally, for pain in the upper back, pure canna tsu, a CBD strain is good for this. Strawberry cough uses a lot of terpenes that are good for this too. On average, most people like to inhale it, since smoking is the traditional way to do it. Vaping is becoming just as popular since in a lot of cases, it works just as fast and as effective as regular smoking, but it doesn’t require you to have to inhale in smoke, which can be damaging to the lungs.

While not ideal, it does work.  You can also feel the effect immediately like this. Edibles are a great way for long-term treatment of this, and they offer the effects that last the longest. However, one of the downsides is that they take a bit longer, so if you’re n extreme pain, this may not be right, but with how fast edibles are, it’s worth it.

Tinctures are another one.  This is because a lot of them are quick, similar to how smoking is, but it lasts a little bit longer. You can actually as well use a syringe too in order to get the effects from this.  You just put it under your tongue, and it works fast. Finally, you’ve got topicals, which are good for localized pain. they last a long time, and they work fast, and they usually don’t get you high, but instead bring it into the bloodstream. All these ways are viable means to consume cannabis products.

How to Use CBD Tinctures

Due to the passage of the 2018 Farm bill, more and more people have started to use CBD. Not just online with dispensaries, but also at the grocery store, smoke shops, even gas stations and certain beauty stores. there is nothing that’s regulating this, and it’s something that has a lot of beneficial uses for this. One of the most popular uses is tincture, and you’ll learn here how to use these, and also why they’re super popular for those to get the CBD that they want.

What a tincture is

There are so many different kinds of tinctures, but here is the basic definition. Basically, a tincture is a concentrated amount of a product that soaks within a plant solvent and some oils that are food grade for a few weeks. It’s put inside a bottle, and it contains a dropper. There are different kinds of tinctures that are there.

You’ve got the full spectrum that does have THC but it’s under .3% of that. There is also the broad spectrum, which contains everything but the THC product within it. Finally, you’ve got the isolate, which is just the THC and nothing more, and this is something that has been properly isolated to give you the CBD and nothing more. These are probably the least popular, but they are good.

They’ve been around since 1843 when it was first recorded in a recipe that was there, and many companies jumped on this, selling a ton of these.

How to Use These

Using a CBD tincture is not that hard. It does involve putting this under the tongue, or sublingually, and then, it gets directly absorbed through where the bloodstream is, through different capillaries within your mouth, like the gums and the cheeks, even where the tongue is.

To begin, you want to share it to make sure that the CBD is properly mixed directly with the liquid that’s offered. Measure this using a dropper, noting all of this, which is vital to those new to utilizing these types of tinctures, as you might struggle with finding the ideal dosage for this. You need to also make sure that you rub the CBD tincture into the mouth, and then, hold it there underneath the tongue.

This is important for bioavailability, as it gets absorbed better when you place it like this. After a few minutes, you want to swallow, as this is something that then goes into the digestive tract, with the rest being absorbed there.

Do keep in mind that tinctures offer the double whammy for those who want to use it. The first instance is when it gets absorbed, which takes about 15 minutes for it to start, and then, the second part of the effects occur about an hour or so after, and they last for a couple of hours. If you’re not feeling these effects, try again after about an hour or so, as they can take a little while to work.

Remember too that it is fat soluble, and if you eat something that’s high in fat beforehand, you’ll be able to boost the bioavailability of this as well.

A lot of people like this because they’re super easy for dosage, are very high in bioavailability, and are quick and effective. They are great if you want to get a concentrated amount for a long period of time, because they do work like this, offering a lot of great benefits that come with this.

Tinctures are easy, but you should be keen on waiting a little bit for it to work, because it can take a while for you to get the full effects of this as well, so keep that in mind.
